A Worshipping Diocese

Adapted from a prayer in the Methodist Worship Book service for ‘The Commissioning of Worship Leaders’ (p.352)

We thank you, gracious God,
for the call you give to each one of us to serve you as a people in worship.
Guide and inspire us by your Holy Spirit and make us worthy of this calling,
that we may bring honour and glory to your name; through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Amen.

Prayer Points

• For those who will join this evening’s online Worship Rooms – that they may experience an outpouring of the Holy Spirit’s power
• For those who lead worship across the diocese and beyond
• For those who operate technology and provide platforms that allow us to engage in online worship
• For every worshipping community in our diocese, not only as they seek to find new ways of being church but also as they plan for an eventual return to worshipping together in Church buildings
